Ghanaian actor and comedian Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as 'LilWin', expressed disappointment with the public's response to his accident on May 25, 2024, which resulted in the death of a 3-year-old boy.

In an interview at the Believers Worship Centre on July 1, LilWin criticized the media portrayal of the incident, saying it made it seem like he had intentionally caused the accident.

The actor denied claims that the accident was due to reckless driving on his part and emphasized that it was not intentional.

“I was sitting down and asked myself if it’s my matter that is being discussed on TV as such. There are a lot of things about a car; it’s a machine. It doesn’t matter if it’s brand new. Anything can happen.

"I am not happy about what happened to the victims. The media has reported the matter as if I deliberately knocked down the young boy with the car and intentionally collided my vehicle with his," he stated.

“They made it seem like I had a telescope, saw a child in the car, and decided to kill him,” he added.

Background

LilWin was arrested on the morning of June 3, shortly after being discharged from the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. The arrest was related to an accident that occurred on May 25, resulting in the death of a three-year-old boy.

The accident happened just hours before the premiere of LilWin's movie, 'A Country Called Ghana,' later that day.
