14TH edition of Harvest Praise launched in Accra

The 14th edition of Harvest Praise, a musical outreach program initiated by the Harvest International Ministries, was launched in Accra on Thursday to offer gospel artistes the platform to minister and save souls on Good Friday.

The annual event, which falls on April 6, would also offer Christians an opportunity to remember the death of Jesus Christ, its relevance and the celebration of his victory on the cross through quality live musical performances and drama.

The Reverend Fitzgerald Odonkor, President of Harvest International Ministries, who launched the programme, said Harvest Praise began in 1998 and had established itself as the programme of choice and exposure for many Gospel Musicians.

“It has, therefore, become a must-attend family event for the Easter season,” he said.

He explained that Harvest International Ministries is an evangelism-oriented Church, which emphasizes on teaching Christians to become effective in their specific vocations.

“It also aims at building leaders who will influence their generations for Jesus Christ; stands for strong families and is committed to building strong Christian families,” he added.

Rev Odonkor stressed that the Ministry also seeks to win souls for Christ, nurture them in the tenets of Christian faith, teach them to be fruitful, disciples them to be mature and equip them for Christian Ministry.

Mr Daniel Adjei, Chairman of the Planning Committee, said the event would develop spiritual refreshment for the people of God and bring those who did not know Christ to his saving knowledge.

Mr Adjei said the event would also give opportunity for families to gather at one place and celebrate the reason for Easter, adding that some orphanages would be transported to and from the program free-of-charge to interact and fellowship with other relatively privileged children.

He said as part of the event, a seminar would be organised for choirs to guide them on how best to let their ministry go beyond Ghana.

He named some of the artistes for the programme as Harvest Gospel Choir, Harvest Theatre, Ernest Opoku Jnr., Ceccy Twum, and Bob Fitts, an international artiste.
