Bishop David Adu Betle’s prophesy
15 More Years For Johns’
-Akufo-Addo not destined to become President
Thursday November 22, 2012.
Whether by accident or design, the name John has become synonymous with our Presidency. Jerry John Rawlings handed over to John Agyekum Kufour; he was succeeded by John Evans Fifii Atta Mills and finally the current president, John Dramani Mahama.
The predictions of electoral results by ‘Men of God’ ahead of elections in Ghana have been a part of Ghana’s elections since the country took the path of democracy under the 1992 Constitution and as usual the tradition is continuing with several religious leaders pouring their predictions ahead of the 2012 elections.
The leader of Heaven Gate Bible Mission, Bishop David Adu Betle has predicted that President John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress will win this year’s elections and not Nana Akufo-Addo and his New Patriotic Party because the President, unlike the NPP candidate, is destined to be President in order to continue with God’s special plan for the country, which was started by Jerry John Rawlings.
In an exclusive interview with The Al-Hajj, Bishop Betle said God revealed to him that personalities with the name ‘John’ will rule Ghana, until the country attains age seventy and until the will of God is done, no name aside ‘John’ can ascend the thrown of the Presidency in Ghana.
“The country is now fifty-five years, so we’re left with 15 more years for the ‘Johns’ to complete their mandate in Ghana. This tells you that President Mahama will win this year’s election and will continue to win the 2016 elections after which any political party with a candidate name ‘John’ will continue” the Man of God revealed
According him, the NPP and its presidential candidate would have to position themselves to embrace another terrible political knockout come December 7, adding that no amount of propaganda, political persecution and intimidation will rob Ghana of its God destined purpose.
“God’s purpose for the ‘Johns’ in Ghana is to move the country from a lower middle income status to a higher income status,” he stressed He added that it is for good reasons that the fourth republic gave rise to the name ‘John’ in the politics of Ghana and that is the secret behind the peaceful environment within which Ghana finds itself as compared to other African nations which are challenged with calamities.
Bishop Betle quizzed “Why is Ghana not experiencing a civil war? Why is Ghana not bedeviled with religious conflict? Why is Ghana not experiencing a north-south conflict? The preamble of Ghana's constitution begins with the name of the Almighty God .This preamble is also used by constitutions of other African nations yet these nations are faced with such calamities.”
Commenting on the NPP’s presidential candidate, the Man of God mentioned that though Nana Akufo-Addo was not destined to become President of Ghana, he incurred the wrath of God by falling to withdraw his ‘all-die-be-die’ comments. Citing some Biblical stories to illustrate his prophecy, the Bishop stated that in chapter three of the book of first Samuel, God called him three times in the house of Eli and it was the third call that the boy Samuel responded by saying, speak Lord thy servant hears.
He added that In the case of the Johns in Ghana, God is calling for the fourth time. It is only the unbelievers who are “making unnecessary noise to prevent the fourth call from been heard. I realize such noise is associated with darkness and darkness must give way when the light of John appears.”
