With just a few months remaining until Ghana’s 2024 elections, Socrate Safo, a prominent supporter of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Director for Creative Arts at the National Commission on Culture (NCC), has penned an open letter to Rex Omar.
In his letter, Mr. Safo addressed a range of topics to the GHAMRO Chairman, who aligns with the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Beyond extolling the policies and accomplishments of the NPP under President Nana Akufo-Addo, Mr. Safo also emphasised the importance of maintaining peace.
Published on his Facebook wall, Mr. Safo expressed optimism about Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia leading the NPP to victory in the upcoming elections.
"Imagine if, after December, discerning Ghanaians choose to continue the progress they’ve witnessed with Free SHS and the digitalization of our economy, rather than reverting to outdated or unclear policies," Mr. Safo wrote.
He continued, "In a country where political ideologies are as passionately supported as football teams, I urge you to manage your expectations. Note that the Free SHS initiative has proven to be a significant benefit, and the mining communities that once opposed the NPP in 2016, driven by past grievances, are now seeing improved policies and necessary support for their industry."
