Gospel singer, Philipa Baafi, is wholeheartedly backing her fellow artiste Nacee to win the prestigious 'Artiste of the Year' title at this year's Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).

Facing stiff competition from artistes like King Promise, Stonebwoy, and Sarkodie, Nacee stands out to Philipa, especially with his hit track "Aseda" which resonated widely over the past year.

She firmly believes that Nacee's consistent hard work and dedication have set him apart, making him a frontrunner for the award.

“Now, gospel music has come a long way by the grace of God and I'm not surprised because the likes of Diana Hamilton, Joe Mettle, Piesie Esther, and others have made us all proud.

“So it's no news to me that Nacee who has been working extremely hard earned a deserving spot this year. And I know he will make it big in that category, his song is powerful and got great traction so I am certain he will win the ultimate prize," she told Graphic Showbiz in a recent interview.

Philipa is also gearing up to mark her 25th year in the music industry with celebrations later this year, alongside promoting her new release, "Eda Ho Pefee."

The 2024 TGMAs is set to take place at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Saturday, June 1.
