In an intriguing turn of events, Milana May, a young woman who hails from Siberia, has embarked on a swimming expedition across Ghana's Lake Bosomtwe.

Before her journey, she sought blessings from local chiefs and elders, who performed rituals at the lake's shore, praying for her safe passage and a smooth voyage.

Milana, who has a deep connection to the lake, expressed her intention to swim back and forth across one of the largest natural lakes in Ghana, located in the Ashanti region.

Clad in a jumpsuit and swimming goggles, she waved to the crowd before diving in, quickly disappearing from view.

The 26-year-old began her adventure on September 20, 2024, and concluded on Monday, September 23, 2024.

Dubbed the "Milana May Freedom Swim," her expedition aimed at promoting eco-tourism and raising awareness about environmental conservation.

“Swimming across Lake Bosomtwe is not just about sport or celebration; it’s about highlighting the fragility of our ecosystems. We must do everything we can to protect and nourish these natural environments for ourselves and future generations,” she stated.

Aside from her swimming hobby, Milana May is a music producer, singer, songwriter, and actress.
