Barely 24 hours after announcing the official nominees list for the 2016 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards that saw Fante rapper and Last 2 Music Group protege Teephlow secure four (4) nominations, an updated list shared by event organizers Charterhouse, seem to suggest three (3) of the nominations have been revoked.
Nominated for Best Rapper of the Year, Hip Hop song of the Year and Best New Artist in the previous list, the final and updated list sees the rapper only in the Best Music Video of the Year Category.
Although no official communication has been made by the organizers, checks made reveal Teephlow’s The Warning which secured him all the nominations was released in 2014 and does not merit a nomination for this year’s edition of the awards.
The video to the song, however, qualifies for the award since it was released in 2015.
Another change was effected in the Producer of the Year category as credit was wrongfully given to Akwaboah Jnr instead of Kwadwo Akwaboah.
