Ghanaian actress Soraya Mensah Kukubor on Saturday graduated with a Degree in Marketing after a four-year Marketing programme at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
The beautiful actress and mother of one joins the likes of Yvonne Okoro, Yvonne Nelson, Lydia Forson, Nadia Buari, Leonora Okine and Zynnell Lydia Zuh in Ghana’s movie industry who are all degree holders.
A half Ghanaian, half Lebanese, she is passionate about anything she sets her mind to do.
She entered Ghana’s movie industry in 2009 and did her first movie, ‘Scorned’, with Sparrow Productions.
She had since featured in a number of movies including ‘The Prince’s Bride’, ‘Supremo’, ‘Material Girl’, ‘No Sex No Marriage’ and the recent Nadia Buari-produced movie, ‘Dairies of Imogen Brown’ among others.
According to her, climbing to highest level of education was one of her major dreams aside acting.
However, “It wasn’t an easy journey. It was very challenging. Sometimes I have to study all night to catch up. Having to combine acting, doing my own job, being a mother and working in my church as well, was tiring. It wasn’t easy. But with hard work, determination and God I went through it all successfully.
If you have an opportunity to do something you do it because as we grow it gets more challenging and we get more distractions. One day at a time. With patience and planning you will make it,” Soraya told NEWS-ONE after her graduation on Saturday.
She also advised Ghanaian youth to invest in education because it is one of the surest ways of a brighter future.
