Entertainment pundit MC Yaa Yeboah has expressed disappointment with the just-ended 2024 3Music Awards.

According to her, low publicity and the absence of many artistes contributed to a poor experience.

Speaking on Neat FM on September 30, 2024, Yeboah noted that the event failed to generate the buzz and excitement seen in previous years.

She stated that numerous artistes, including some winners, did not attend the event, further contributing to the subdued atmosphere.

“The vibe was not really there. Publicity was extremely low, and the red carpet was… I don’t know. Even after the show, I'm still not hearing any buzz.

“I learned that many artists did not show up for the event. The winners actually did not attend. So I'm asking myself, what really went wrong? This is the same 3Music Awards that amazed us in previous years. We sat on the radio commenting on it; it was mind-blowing. But this time, it feels like they've dropped from 100 to 20,” she stated.

Yeboah also highlighted the lack of promotion leading up to the event, mentioning that there was little buzz, especially on social media.

“For this year's 3Music Awards, the publicity was extremely low. The only time I heard about the show was when Olele Salvador mentioned it on United Showbiz. Even during the week leading up to the event, I wasn’t aware of anything. It was only on the Saturday morning of the event that I found out it was happening.

“The publicity was really lacking. I don’t know what the reason was, but even if they were targeting Gen Zs, I expected it to be a hot topic on social media. But I didn’t see anything on Twitter or TikTok—absolutely nothing,” she said.

The only standout moment for Yeboah was Efia Odo's performance, which she praised for its excellence.

The 2024 3Music Awards, held at the Palms Convention Centre in Accra on September 28, featured Stonebwoy winning the top award and the Reggae/Dancehall Act of the Year.

Black Sherif also had a successful night, taking home the Hiplife/Hip Hop Act of the Year and Performer of the Year awards.

Olivetheboy secured multiple accolades, including EP of the Year and Breakthrough Act of the Year.

King Promise's "Terminator" was named Viral Song of the Year, while Sarkodie's "Otan" won HipHop Song of the Year.

Nacee's "Aseda" was awarded Gospel Song of the Year, and Tyla's "Water" was celebrated as the African Song of the Year.
