4 top Ghanaian artistes you probably do not know are related by blood

Probably due to their family's star power, these "movers and shakers" of the Ghanaian entertainment industry are making significant strides, particularly in recent times.

Although related, these individuals have pursued solo careers and are now among the top artistes in the industry.

Interestingly, despite sharing the same DNA, their tastes and creativity in music are quite different.

Also, they have not collaborated, partly due to their strained relationships.

Some have even been labelled as rivals in the music industry.

Let's take a look at them below:

Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale

During the Peace FM Entertainment Review sometime in 2019, Shatta Wale's mother, Elsie Avemegah, disclosed that Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy are related by blood.

She said Stonebwoy and Shatta, who are tagged as Ghana's greatest rivals, are brothers.

She made this statement while expressing concern about their ongoing feuds.

“Both of them are not aware, but I know that Stonebwoy’s biological mother is my auntie. I am telling you today! I am from the Ahiableh family, and Stonebwoy’s uncle is Ahiableh, and my grandfather is Ahiableh. So they are related, and they both don’t know," Madam Elsie revealed.

King Promise and KiDi

In an earlier discussion on United Showbiz, KiDi disclosed that King Promise is his cousin. This came up in response to a situation where King Promise's management requested that his verse be removed from KiDi's song 'Enjoyment', causing friction between them.

King Promise later confirmed their relationship on social media following a joint performance at an event.

"Big love, cousin! I remember when we began this music journey, like yesterday! Proud of you like you are of me!" he stated.

Meanwhile, GhanaWeb is set to premiere a documentary on playwright Uncle Ebo Whyte on Monday, August 19, 2024. Watch the trailer below:
