Sydney, a couple of months ago, launched his album in Togo and also staged some concerts in Benin and Liberia.

The controversial artiste told Beatwaves in an exclusive interview that he had to abandon the project, which should have kicked-off earlier, for an award in the UK at the second edition of the annual Hiplife Festival organized in the UK by Allordia Promotions.

“I have been away for while. I went to the UK for the second edition of the Hiplife Festival where I was given a lifetime award. That was the second time I had been invited for such an award. Last year it was given to Reggie Rockstone and this time around it was me. Before I left, I started with the first phase of the tour,” he indicated.

According to Barima Sydney, he would be traveling to Benin this week to plan the second phase of the tour, which is meant to encourage Africans to unite.

Sydney hinted also that “before the December election I will be coming with a single titled ‘Yen mpe’. It is not really a peace song; rather, a caution song that would hit everybody,” he revealed.
