A profile of Isaiah Kwadwo Ampong of Mentor II

Isaiah Kwadwo Ampong is the kingpin of the trio together with Cee and Showboy. He has been in music since 1996 and has come out with a number of hit songs including “Jordan”, “Osofoo Kasa”, “Hossana” before later teaming up with Isaac and Cee.

According to him, he had followed all the editions of the Mentor Shows and saw the potential in Cee and Isaac. He therefore recruited them to work with him.

He first started with Isaac last year and got Cee on board this year. According to him, he is working hard to get Erico also to join the group.

He came to Accra as a hustler in 1996 and to pursue a soccer career. Before then he had engaged in ‘galamsey’ activities at Tarkwa.

In Accra he did all sorts of jobs including the sale of Daily Graphic, while perching in a kiosk at North Kaneshie.

He was a God-fearing young man who did song ministration at North Kaneshie SDA Church and at other big events.

He said he once told his colleagues that it was time they came out with their own music to enhance their work.

He believes God has anointed him and He used him to write songs which he put together into an album and produced by BANDEX.

He says with the team he has at the moment it should be possible to dominate the gospel music scene in Ghana in the near future.
