AB Crentsil, Pat Thomas sing for fathers

A special Fathers Day buffet lunch spiced with good music from highlife veterans, A.?B. Crentsil and Pat Thomas, with support from the Buoyant Band from Mamprobi in Accra, was the lot of fathers and other guests at an event held last Sunday at the State Banquet Hall in Accra.

Both A.B. Crentsil and Pat Thomas performed some of their popular tunes which got everybody present dancing.

Guests were also fed with loads of humour by emcee, broadcaster Abeiku ‘Santana’ Aggrey who got the audience laughing each time he was handed the microphone.

The event, the maiden programme organised by Ozone Media in collaboration with Radio Gold, celebrated fathers who have lived up to their responsibilities and continue to nurture and provide for their children.

Apart from the music and drinks, the Inspector General of Police, Mr Mohammed Ahmed Alhassan was honoured as the ‘most outstanding father’ for 2014.

The IGP’s recognition was the result of his commitment and dedication to fight crime and reduce its recurrence by introducing the Police Visibility Unit in the various communities in the country.

The efforts of the IGP was acknowledged in a citation, which was received on his behalf by the Director General of the Public Affairs Department of the Ghana Police Service, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Reverend David Nenyi Ampa-Benin.

According to the citation, the IGP had worked hard to improve the image and integrity of the officers and men of the Ghana Police Service as well as the massive infrastructural development he had embarked on, especially at the headquarters of the Criminal Investigations Department of the service.
