AUDIO: Ghana DJ Awards 2015 theme song, ‘Rhythm Nation’ released

To mark the 3rd anniversary of the annual Ghana DJ Awards, half Ghanaian and half Ivorian afro-pop singer, Miray has performed a historic official awards theme song featuring top Ghanaian hype man, Merqury Quaye which was released on the awards official Facebook page.

The afro-pop music titled will be heard throughout campaigns and ultimately open the mega Ghana DJ Awards show which will be held at the Accra International Conference Centre during the first quarter of 2015.

This is the first of time an awards program in Ghana has a tune recorded especially for it.

With technical input from 3fs studios, Miray said she tried to come up with something beautiful, thematic and simple but also edgy and festive for the occasion.

Signed on to Swagg Luna GH Record Label, Miray, real name, Miray Mansan Gomont first had a stint with the entertainment world when she participated in a dancing competition at Ivory coast when she was nine years.

Then she participated to a singing reality TV show audition in France in 2000. Later during her studies in the United States of America (2004 – 2008), she got to record her first professional song with one of the renowned New York Recording studios and later on performed at various great platforms such as B.B.

King in Times Square (alongside the legendary Ghanaian musician Kojo Antwi), Adam Clayton building and Apollo Theatre in Harlem, Open Mics at Iguana Cafe downtown New York, Marcus Garvey Park during Teriyah Festival, etc.

The half Ghanaian and half Ivorian ‘outdoored’ herself to the Ghanaian public when she performed alongside Sarkodie, Kwabena Kwabena, Fuse ODG and 2face Idibia at the 24 Nite Concert held in Kumasi last year.

The last edition of the Ghana DJ Awards held at the National Theatre of Ghana saw DJ Black of Joy 99.7fm grab the ultimate Best DJ of The Year award.

Ghana DJ Awards, the biggest DJ event in Africa, aims at fostering the development of the Ghanaian music industry by rewarding and celebrating Disc Jockeys who have excelled in their field of endeavor and also recognizes veteran DJs who have blazed the trail in the music industry.
