Abraham Attah Foundation donates Toms shoes to Akropong School for the Blind

Award winning young actor, Abraham Nii Attah has donated Toms shoes to visually impaired students of the Akropong School for the Blind in the Eastern Region. The donation was done on his behalf by his manager Mawuko Kuadzi.

They donated four (4) boxes of footwear to the institution.

“We donated boxes of brand new Toms shoes to the Akropong School for the Blind at the Colours of Blakk Fashion show for the visually impaired towards a peaceful election.” Kuadzi wrote on Facebook.

According to him, the shoes donated are part of the 10,000 Toms shoes they promised to donate to various schools and orphanage across the country months ago.

The donation is an initiative of Abraham Attah Foundation and Toms Shoes.

Abraham Attah gained international prominence playing alongside Idris Elba in the movie Beasts of No Nation directed by Emmy Award-winning Cary Fukunaga.

Playing the character ‘Agu’ who when civil war tears his family apart, is forced to join a unit of mercenary fighters and transformed into a child soldier earned Attah praise around the world.

He won Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor at Venice Film Festival 2015, ‘Best Male Lead’ award at the 2016 Independent Spirit Awards, and also Rising Star Award’ at the Black Fim Critics Circle (BFCC). The award scheme called Attah’s role as “one of the strongest and most phenomenal we have ever seen” and added that he had “a very bright future ahead of him”.

The movie was based on the 2005 novel of the same title by Uzodinma Iweala. Shoot in Ghana, it starred Ama K. Abebrese, Fred Amugi and Grace Nortey.

The movie was the first fictional feature produced and distributed by Streaming Service Netflix.

A couple of months ago, he was announced as a member of the cast of new Spider-Man movie: Homecoming.

Attah will play alongside Robert Downey Jr, Micheal Keaton, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Tom Holland and many others. He is currently on set in Atlanta, United States of America, the publication says.

The movie is directed by Jon Watts, with Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal as producers. It is backed by Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures.
