Aburukusu In Live Performance

Aburukusu Orchestra in a displayGuests at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra last weekend were amazed to hear the great sounds by the Abu-rukusu Orchestra at a time when dinner, snacks, and drinks were being served at the Pool area where the Orchestra performed.

Perhaps, it was the selection of the musical items and their unique performances that fascinated the audience.

Under the baton of Dr. Kwasi Aduonum, the orchestra performed rare pieces such as the underground Railroad, Africkana highlife, O when the saints, O my People, and Nyame aye bi considering the blowing of the Xmas winds and feelings, the orchestra intrigued the audience with carols such as Joy to the world, O little town of Bethlehem, here comes Santa Clause, and Deck the Halls, all with special introductions and codetta?s.

Aburukusu Orchestra performances are becoming quite entertaining and popular, judged from the different musical items the orchestra performed.

Whereas patriotic songs such as Patriotism or Ghana Nkabomu songs have become a wholesale commodity, wedding and funeral songs are equally enjoyed by diverse audiences.

The group has newly composed birthday songs which are performed for different occasions accompanied by profusely intriguing drumming styles and tampi.

The Aburukusu Orchestra which comprises twenty strong musicians perform for all occasions.

According to the leader, Mr Aduonum, Aburukusu Orchestra takes much pride in selecting quality and appropriate music for all occasions and events, thus, providing a variety of musical items.
