Actor Lil Win 'endorses' marijuana use

Ghanaian comic actor Kwadwo Nkansah, aka Lil Win took a rather bizarre turn after performing with Guru at the Ghana meets Naija concert in Accra, to endorse the potency of marijuana while encouraging its use.

Lil Win who was topless carrying a polythene bag after a performance with Guru decided to play the role of a medical salesman but to the dismay of the crowd, said in the Twi language that he was selling marijuana to cure the psychologically distressed.

In the process of explaining how marijuana is used after giving a biblical backing to the use of herbs, Dj Black interrupted the actor’s speech with sounds from the turntable and subsequently turned off his microphone when he became adamant.

Immediately after Lil Win’s spectacle, the MC for the night, Chris Attoh on behalf of the organisers dissociated the concert from the comic actor’s stance on marijuana and described it as an act.

The headline sponsors of the Ghana Meets Naija concert also issued a disclaimer on the huge screens of the Conference Centre auditorium with an apology stating that they disapprove of any public promotion or sale of “wee” or any illicit drug including Lil Win’s comments on the sale of wee.

This year’s Ghana Meets Naija concert is the fourth to be organised by Empire Entertainment held at the Accra International Conference Centre. It featured artistes including Sarkodie, Shatta Wale, Guru and Castro from Ghana and then Davido, Kay Cee and Wizboy from Nigeria.
