Actor Van Vicker Launches Foundation To Start Children's Movies

It was a great sight to behold at the Lyron International School, located at Spintex, as ace Ghanaian actor, director and producer, Joseph Van Vicker launched his foundation, "The Van Vicker Foundation", over the weekend.

The foundation which is set to see to the progress of the youth of this country through education, sports, music and film making had high power dignitaries such as Mr. Eugene Hogah(Globacom), Ghanaian high-life musician, Pat Thomas, Mr. Eddie Nyarko aka Mr. T(manager of Van Vicker). Ms. Ama Shabby(proprietress of Lyron International School), and Tic -Tac gracing the occasion.

In his address, the president and founder of the foundation Van Vicker, hinted to the gathering what the foundation entails and hopes to achieve in the near future. "I feel duty bound to help this nation and the youth of this world as much as I can through this foundation.

Early learning and realization of the abundant potential this youth inhibit will be transformed through education, sports, music and film making so as to make them better leaders in the future" Van said. He added that children will be given the opportunity to engage in their respective areas of talent so as to make learning in teaching easier.

The Van Vicker Foundation has already set up a library block at the Lyron International School where books are supplied for the reading pleasure of the kids. Also another Library is due to be built at the Budumburam Camp in the Western Region of Ghana before the end of this year. "I chose these places because I've enjoyed my youthful days at both places, and they will always be a part of my life" Van stressed.

According to the actor, there will be a low budgeted movie which will star most of the youth in some respective areas in the country very soon. Chairman for the occasion, Mr. Eugene Hogah from GLO recommended Van for the foresight he has for the youth and asked all and sundry to donate generously whenever they come knocking at their doors.

Adding his quota to the occasion, Tic Tac who is also the face of Melcom, had lots of admiration for the Van Vicker family for such an honorary establishment. "Van has made all of us proud for kick starting such a good program and we'll all follow suit very soon. Please donate generously to this cause."

There were song ministrations by Ms. Diane from the USA and the Lyron International School Choir. Master of the ceremony was Vashti from Liberia. The Van Vicker Foundation - Helping The Youth Make A Career Out Of Their Talent Through Education, Sports, Music And Film Making.
