Agya Koo's fame dip down to pride – Ex-FIPAG PRO

Film producer and former Public Relations Officer of the Film Producers Association of Ghana (FIPAG), Michael Ola, has said Agya Koo’s acting career took a nosedive as a result of his pride and arrogance.

His comment comes in the wake of a recent debate about the relevance of Agya Koo in the local movie industry with the emergence of Kojo Nkansah popularly known as Lil Win.

Launching his new app ‘Agya Koo 2CTV’, the comedian said when it comes to comedy in movies, all the others, including Lil Win, can only dream to reach his level.

Contributing to the discussion in a radio talk show, Ola said Agya Koo, known in private life as Kofi Adu, became so arrogant that he gives producers two days to shoot a movie and when they are unable to shoot within that period, he walks away onto another set.

“Agya Koo gives producers two days to shoot a movie, he’ll not give you more than two days and then again he’ll tell you he doesn’t do night scenes because the light affects his eyes. So you are forced to use less than 48 hours to shoot a movie with Agya Koo. So it was a pressure for every director,” Ola said on Day Break on Accra-based Hitz FM.

Ola alleged that the award-winning actor, during his prime, also refused to be on a set with ladies who turn down his proposal.

“At that time, people were chasing him with big money and he can decide to travel a short time and come back and increase his rate, because when he comes back, there will be lots of [film makers] waiting for him and you have to pay bribe to his manager before you can get Agya Koo to be on your set. And also, when he chases the girls and they refuse to accept his proposal, he’ll tell you: ‘I don’t want this girl on any set I’m on again’”, he stated.

Meanwhile, Agya Koo said he is no more prominent in movies because some directors have decided to sabotage him.
