Actress Rosemond Brown popularly known as Akuapem Poloo will be arraigned before the court today July 3, 2020, according to sources at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.
Her conduct according to police investigators is a violation of Section 280 and 280, Sub-section 25 of the Criminal Act of 1960 which prohibits the willful and intentional indecent exposure of one’s nakedness or genitals in any public place or platform.
She faces two charges of indecent assault to wit and obscenity and could be jailed up to three years or more if found guilty.
Akuapem Poloo has under fire this week for posing in some explicit birthday shots she took with her son on his 7th birthday.
The Gender Ministry has since stated that it has taken notice actress Akuapem Poloo’s naked photo posted on her Instagram page to celebrate her son’s birthday and is taking the needed steps to deal with her.
According to the Ministry, the photo is a breach of the Children’s Act 1998 and the Criminal and other offences (Act 30).
The Ministry through a statement condemned the action of the actress which they described as indecent exposure, it also said it is working with the appropriate authorities to ensure that the issue is dealt with.
It reminded the general public that posting of nudes on all social media platforms is an offence and therefore the public must desist from it.
