Akufo Addo’s dumsor not serious like Mahama’s time – Yvonne Nelson

Actress, Yvonne Nelson Actress, Yvonne Nelson

Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson has explained why she is on a subtle leave on campaigning against elastic power supply in the country.

Speaking in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, which was monitored by Zionfelix.net, Yvonne said the dumsor at Ex-President John Mahama’s time was so serious and intense.

According to her, the same cannot be said about what Ghanaians are experiencing now with President Akufo Addo’s led-government.

“I still started the same thing I started when we were having the dumsor problem during Mahama’s time. I was on twitter, tweeting about it. I didn’t hit the street because it is not serious or intense now like Mahama’s time. Let’s stop pretending and be truthful…People were dying at hospitals during the NDC time…It was crazy, we will go on set and use generators to shoot…people were shutting down their businesses. I started the hashtags but it didn’t get the attention from people,” she stated.

She shot down rumours that she was paid by the NPP government to keep quiet when they came to power.

“I put my life on the line, I put my career on the line. No one in the NPP or NDC paid me. They can come out and prove it if they have given me money,” the actress said with a lot of passion.

Yvonne Nelson disclosed that she received a lot of death threats after the dumsor must stop vigil some years ago.
