Ama K Wins Best Actress Again

The sky is definitely the starting point for Ghana’s showbiz icon, Ama K Abebrese.

She has once again earned an enviable recognition in Africa’s movie industry by winning the Best Actress Award at the Zimbabwe Film Festival.

She was named Best Actress for her role in ‘Sinking Sands’. She grabbed the award ahead of other big names from across the African continent.

Ama K has since her recognition at Zimbabwe Film Festival been receiving congratulatory messages on all social networks.

Last night, she was expected to increase the tally with another win at Screen Nation Awards held in London at the IndigO2.

The Screen Nation Film & TV Awards 2011 is an annual ceremony to celebrate outstanding achievements and diversity on the British movie screen. The event was hosted by one of TV’s favourite couples, Angellica Bell and Michael Underwood, and brought together a lot of world stars.http://www.ameyawdebrah.com/

Currently, Ama is African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) Best Actress in leading role, an award she snatched from competitors Genevieve Nnaji, Omoni Oboli and other top African actress at the last AMAA.

She is hopeful of winning the Oscars one day if God gives her life.

“I won an award as Ghana UK Media personality last year and the Best Actress in leading role at the African Movie Academy Awards. Now my next thing is to bring on the Golden Globe awards, and the Oscars, you have to dream big. People say that aim for the moon. If you don’t succeed at least you will be among the stars. Right now I feel I am among the stars and I only want to aim higher. I want to keep getting better and by God’s grace I will get better roles and improve. Now I really had to work harder than before,” she said after she received her AMAA statuette.
