The celebrated Afro-pop music star, Rebecca Acheampong, popularly known as Becca, has received a donation from the Ambassador of The Sovereign Knights of Malta, Ambassador Lorenzo Dore, as part of his contribution towards Becca’s charity project.
Last year, Becca took it upon herself to register ten thousand under privileged kids into the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). Her vision motivated her to launch her charity fund, dubbed “Becca’s Children’s Ball” a couple of week ago, at the Banquet Hall, State House, in Accra.
Becca’s Ball is expected to be an annual event to help raise awareness and funds, to support needy children whose parents cannot afford to register them into the scheme. Before the launch, she had already registered over 100 children out of her targeted 10,000 children.
Ambassador Dore, at the function, donated products worth $5,000 to support Becca’s project. Products included chocolates, cakes, pasta or noodles, amongst other items. Receiving the products, Becca expressed her appreciation towards this great gesture and mentioned that, the products will put smiles on the faces of the children she was going to donate them to at a children’s hospital.
She further stated that she had been able to achieve and exceed her target, and as such, registration of the children would commence immediately. She again called on all Ghanaians to help support the needy in the country.
