The management of EKB Records, managers of Ghana’s sensational Afro-pop singer Becca, have expressed regret and disappointment over her inability to perform at the widely publicised concert scheduled for the Akroma Plaza in Sekondi-Takoradi. Becca was expected to headline a show in the twin city last Saturday, October 18, but the event had to be called off at the last minute because her flight to Ghana was cancelled. Speaking at a press conference at the offices of EKB Records on Monday, the obviously disturbed Becca, who wept for disappointing her fans, apologised to all her fans and admirers, some of whom travelled as far as from Tarkwa and Cape Coast to watch the show.
“This is the most disappointing and embarrassing moment in my career. Although the people in that part of the country have not seen me live on stage before, they simply love my music and l love them too. I am so disappointed, just like the fans, that the show could not come off.”
Becca has therefore promised her fans in the Central and Western regions an unforgettable and splendid performance on Saturday, November 1, and wants them to be there in their numbers.
On his part, the CEO of EKB Records, Kiki Banson, who was visibly sad during the press conference, indicated that the show which was expected to be one of the biggest ever to be witnessed in Takoradi has however been rescheduled for Saturday, November 1, 2008.
He thus asked the over one thousand patrons who bought tickets to watch the concert to keep them well for November 1.
