Popular Ghanaian actress, Emelia Brobbey has taken a swipe at Kumasi-based radio station, Nhyira FM for defaming her on their entertainment show.
The actress in an interview with Dave Hamma on Hello FM in Kumasi said it is not news that she donated Gh10, 000 to Cherubs Orphanage Home at Apire in Kumasi last week because her foundation has for the past years fulfilled its promises made to other orphanage homes.
Angry Emelia Brobbey opined that Nhyira FM discussed her on their entertainment show in order to tarnish her image.
“Why did they report that I’ve not presented the money to the orphanage home when they do not know the number of days I present money after I’ve raised the funds? It looks like the radio station wants a way to disgrace me because the said radio station has never followed my foundation’s works so what is their interest now that I’ve not presented the cash so they’re going to inquire from the orphanage.
When they called the orphanage home, owners did not say that I’ve made fake promises so why do they have to say I’ve done so?” peeved Emelia told Dave Hamma on Hello Entertainment Review on Saturday.
The actress cum producer explained that owner of the orphanage home, Elder Osei Bonsu did not tell the radio station that “I’ve made fake promise when they contacted him”.
“The man can never say that because I talked to him after the show. He was also at the concert so he is privy to the amount that came and those who also made pledges.
The man never said I’ve not contacted him but someone changed his words and reported that I’ve been tossing the man”
She recounted that Emelia Brobbey Foundation spent Gh28, 000 to build a block for Compassion is Love orphanage home in Sunyani.
“I never saw that Nhriya FM reported that good news so I don’t know where this defamation is coming from but I don’t have their time. ”
Emelia expressed disappointment in her fellow actor, Big Akwes who was on Nyhira FM at the time of their report for not calling to ask her about the issue.
The Multimedia-owned radio station was reported to have slammed the screen goddess on its entertainment show, Entertainment Power for not fulfilling her promise to Cherubs Orphanage Home after organizing a charity concert dubbed “Save The Orphan” to raise cash help them build a classroom block.
“The show host Okukuseku and his team of pundits later on the show slammed Emelia Brobbey for not fulfilling the promises she made to the orphans.” the report said.
