According to unconfirmed reports, the government refused to retain the services of Volta River Authorities' (VRA) Interim Management Committee (IMC) when their tenure expired on February 6.
The tenure of the IMC was put in place four months ago to run the affairs of the VRA ? following the voluntary resignation of Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobby, former Chief Executive and his immediate Deputy, Mr. Joseph Amissah-Arthur-has ended.
A Ghanaian on SIL asked: "The strange part of all this was a news story a few days ago stating how much of a good job the Interim Management Committee was doing. My question is was this story planted by the IMC to save itself or by the government to prepare us for the changes."
"It is the government's discretion, but all these haphzard leadership changes cause a lot of confusion ..and people take advantage of these situations." he continued
