Felivian Ayariga Adombila Dion - the three month pregnant girlfriend of Rabiu, the alleged robber who was killed at Ogbojo last Friday in shootout with the police might soon be hauled to an Accra Circuit Court on charges of harbouring a suspected criminals.
Information gathered by The Finder newspaper indicated that Felivian A. Ayariga, alias Dion, 26 who hails from Bolgatanga was arrested by the police in January this year.
Felivian a model, whose image is posted on a billboard of a textile industry, around Koala Shopping Mall at Osu has been Rabiu’s girlfriend for more than five years.
According to the police, the model was arrested because she whisked Rabiu away after a shootout between the police and him (Rabiu) near the Accra Girls Senior High School in January where he sustained several injuries to a hotel around Madina.
The police laid ambush in the house of Felivian who arrived late in the night and arrested her to help locate the hide-out of Rabiu. Felivian declined knowing the whereabouts of his boyfriend until persistent pressure from the police.
She later led police to a hotel at Madina, but before the police got to the hotel; they were told Rabiu had left few minutes ago.
Further investigations revealed that proceeds from any robbery of Rabiu were always shared in the house of Felivian at East Legon, Shiashi and some hotels in Accra. Rabiu grew up in Maamobi in Accra is said to have spend most of his life in prison and during infancy he was sent to the Borstal Institute.
Rabiu, a Togolese alias Raba was gunned down with one accomplice, Sam Peters a Nigerian in a shootout with the police at Ogbodzo near Madina a suburb of Accra last Friday.
The model admitted that she was in a relationship with Rabiu but never knew he was an armed robber. The Finder also gathered that two teenage girls (names withheld) both 19 years of age dated by Rabiu were lured to the Regional Police Command for interrogations.
The girls are said to be in Junior High School (JHS) Two and Senior High School (SHS) One respectively in Accra and Cape Coast.
Rabiu is said to have met the JHS girl when she was on her way to the hospital and offered her lift with an amount of GH¢5. They later exchanged numbers and the two started communication resulting in a relationship.
With regards to the SHS girl, Rabiu was said to have offered her help while he met her selling corn and groundnuts. Rabiu offered to help her further with her education and gave her GH¢350 to register for remedial which also led to a relationship between the two.
A visit by the Regional Command and the press to Madina Agbogbloshie area on Saturday revealed that Rabiu was putting up a storey building.
According to the Deputy Regional Commander, ACP Christian Tetteh Yohuno, intelligence revealed that Rabiu bought the land on which he was building at GH¢21,000.
He said according to Felivian, she knew Rabiu was building but indicated that Rabiu processed the document relating to the building in the name of his elder brother which she was not enthused about.
Briefing the media earlier in the hours of Saturday, the Accra Regional Commander, COP Rose Bio Atinga and her Deputy, ACP Yohuno said on Friday at about 5pm, the police had a tip off that armed robbers had planned to attack a Nigerian national in a house at Ogbodzo.
The operation team laid ambush in the said residence and within some few minutes three armed men on two motorbikes rode into the house.
COP Atinga said Rabiu and Peters and one other accomplice who is on the run known as Ramani engaged the police in a fierce battle and in the process Rabiu and Peters were killed.
Until Rabiu’s death, he had committed several robberies in and around the country.
The robberies include the recent killing of the police officer at Tema UBA Bank in January, Antis Company at Agbogba both this year, Haatso Forex Bureau robbery, the Accra Shopping Mall robbery in August last year, the killing of the Managing Director of Louis Gas Filling Station, Mr. Louis Kofi Badu at Madina in 2010.
Items recovered on the deceased, include two foreign pistols, 10 rounds of ammunitions, three mobile phones and a talisman worn by Peters.
Information says a document was found on Rabiu which indicated that he had a foreign account and he was going to withdraw some money from the bank (name withheld) in the name of Baba Adams.
The Command cautioned the armed robbers, stating that “you will run but you cannot hide”, adding that they would always get hold of them.
COP Atinga said most of the crack robbers had all been apprehended and thanked the public for the effort in assisting the police in combating crime.
