Gospel artiste manager Kwasi Ernest has said it is unfortunate most artistes’ managers are not regarded as the persons behind the successful transition of artistes from being an unknown star to a popular artiste.

The Media Excel boss claimed over his eight (8) years experience managing artistes, the labourious part of the job is mostly done by the managers yet their works are not appreciated by the artistes when their career turn to blossom.

Speaking on the Christian Entertainment Review Show on Faith TV, Kwasi Ernest disclosed that in order not to hold the musician’s brand in low esteem for failing to perform at an event, the manager is forced to shield his artiste.

“When an artiste becomes successful, the transition from an unknown artiste to a popular artiste is like world war 2 because at that point the artiste who used to call you and give you appellations now change that you the manager becomes the one worshiping the artiste. You can charge for a show as a manager and the artiste will refuse to perform and it get too worrying that you have to beg the artiste to perform at the event. If you’re not careful as a manager, you’ll end up being sued by event organizers since your artiste failed to show up at the event.

“It’s unfortunate as a manager you can’t also bring your artiste’s name in disrepute for failing to show up at an event he or she was billed to perform. You’ve to protect your artiste.

“We as managers do all the donkey jobs and we commit mistakes because our system of managing an artiste is not like the major record labels that have all the systems in place.” Kwasi Ernest said on Faith TV.
