You can call them two extremists of completely disparate parties and you may not be far from right; Asiedu Nketia of the National Democratic Congress and Kennedy Agyapong of the New Patriotic Party.

The two are known by the public as outspoken and somewhat controversial in their own respects; both have actually had differences on quite a number of issues in previous times.

As though organizers of the Radio and Television Personality Awards wanted to create a platform for a reunion, NDC’s Asiedu Nketia was tasked with the mandate of presenting Kennedy Agyapong an Honorary Award as the CEO of Kencity Media at the just ended RTP Awards.

It was a brief moment of drama as the house went crazy with screams when the announcement was made of who was to make the presentation to the NPP firebrand. The screams were accompanied by NDC’s signature ‘Onaapo’ song to welcome Asiedu Nketia on stage for the presentation.

Asiedu Nketia who seemed fascinated by the crowd’s reaction, presented the award, spelling out Mr. Agyapong’s full name amidst cheers from the crowd.

“I have the honor to crave your indulgence to present this award to my own friend Honorable Kennedy Ohene Okopreko Agyapong”, he said.
The NPP signature song “Nana y3 winner” immediately followed after the reading of the citation by Mr. Nketia.

As if that was not enough, the NDC ‘fireman’ showcased a crisp dance with Afia Schwarzenegger who joined him on stage to present the award.
The award, though was not presented directly to Hon. Ken Agyapong, spurred reactions just as though it was being received by him.

The seventh edition of the RTP Awards came off on Saturday October 28 at the Accra International Conference Center.

The night saw performances from the likes of Ebony, Kurl Songs, DJ Switch, Patience Nyarko, among others.
Several dignitaries including Sammy Awuku, Joshua Alabi, Former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings, among others were present to grace the occasion.
