Ho, Aug. 16, GNA - Mr Pius Adanuti, Kpando District Chief Executive on Saturday launched this year's Asogli Yam Festival and the "Transvolta Trade Fair" in Ho with a called on Asogli citizens and people from the Volta Region not to be adamant to change.
He said the fear of moving away from the old ways of doing things to incorporate new ideas, suiting society was of the region's greatest problems.
Touching on the theme for the festival: "Attitudinal Change, An Important Pre-requisite For Prosperity", Mr Adanuti said it was time the youth of the region do away with lackadaisical attitudes to developmental initiatives and called for all hands on deck to turn the fortunes of the region around.
Organisers of the twin event proposed this year's celebration to be an extraordinary one, where over 950,000 visitors are expected to interact with at least, 150 potential exhibitors.
According to Mr David Bansah, Chairman of the Festival Planning Committee, some forgotten cultural activities such as story telling, folktale and cooking competition would be rejuvenated this year with a football match between the Asogli State and the Kyibi Traditional Area.
