Atinka 104.7, a new radio station on the block is set to offer ardent listeners of radio in the capital city a whole new experience in radio when it is formally launched today at the forecourt of its Kokomlemle offices in Accra.
The station’s online platform, www.atinkaonline.com will also be launched on the same day to offer up-to-the-minute news and information to readers and listeners across the globe. Atinka FM is a rebranding of Sena Radio formerly located in Ashaiman.
Atinka FM, which is operated by Jam Media Consult, a subsidiary of Tobinco Group of Companies, has managed to assemble a strong team made of professionals who have acquired enough experience in the radio industry over the years and are ready to unleash such professionalism on radio listeners in the capital city.
The primary objectives of Atinka 104.7FM include: to present news, information, entertainment and education to its target audience in a creative and engaging manner that attracts enough attention to establish a significant market.
Renowned radio personality, Kwame Adinkra, a household name in the Garden City of Ghana as far as morning shows are concerned, will lead the Atinka morning show team to offer listeners quality content and information. Mr Adinkra is determined to make positive impact in Accra to prove his versatility.
Kofi Asare Brako aka “Abatey”, formerly of Despite Group of companies and Multimedia, is expected to head the sports team. He will be ably assisted by seasoned sports analysts like Kofi Appiah, Abraham Boakye known as “One man supporter” and Saddick Adams aka “Sports Obama” a young talented sports journalist in Ghana formerly of Angel fm in Kumasi.
Jerry Tsatro Modey, formerly of Peace FM and Multimedia will also lead the news team with support from experienced and renowned anchors like Oduruyefuo Nana Asabre formerly of Hello FM and Angel fm and Akosua Agyeiwaa, a former news presenter at Ash FM all of Kumasi. Whiles the Atinka Entertainment team will be headed by Philip Appiah Kubi properly known in showbiz as Roman father, a well-known presenter/DJ in the Ashanti Region of Ghana and formerly Sika FM.
Full programming immediately begins after the launch, which will see renowned showbiz personalities like Akrobeto, Kwaku Manu, Nkansah Lil Win, Kyeiwaa and a famous female Gospel Artist Gifty Osei amongst others entertaining the audience.
The word “Atinka” is an Akan word which means “feeling”. The station intends to have its programming driven by a sense of “fellow feeling”, compassion, empathy and care for the needy and vulnerable in the society. According to one of the Board of Directors of Jam Media Consult in charge of operations, Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, “the station does not intend to only reach out at Christmas or festive seasons but to have that connection with the community all year round, reaching out to various segments of the society in order to be a blessing. This is how we intend to be identified by our listeners … the station that feels – Atinka!”
