Atinka Media Village, operators of Atinka TV and a number of FM stations and a subsidiary of the Tobinco Group of Companies on Wednesday launched the “Season 3” of its popular dance reality show, dubbed, “Di Asa” in Accra.

The reality shows is a platform for plus-sized market women across the country with passion for dancing to exhibit dancing moves for a period of time to stay healthy, entertain the public and win awards at the end of the competition.

Mr Albert Kwabena Dwumfuor, the Managing Director (MD) of the Atinka Media Village said 40 women from 26 markets across the 16 regions would participate in the contest.

He disclosed that the first audition would take place at Oda and Koforidua markets on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at the Mpraeso Lorry Park to climax the Easter festivities.

He noted that there would be special regional editions in the Greater Accra, Eastern, Western and Ashanti Regions to select final contestants for each of the regions.

“All the winners will converge in Accra on June 24, 2019 where they will be camped in a lavish Di Asa House to kick start the competition properly,” he said.

The winner of the competition, Mr Dwumfuor said, would be given a brand-new saloon car followed by the first runner-up with a Kia truck and the second runner-up with a tricycle.

The first three winners, he said, would also be given a fully sponsored trip to Dubai for vacation by the Tobinco Group of Companies.

“The fourth to 10th position will have a job opportunity with the Tobinco Group of Companies,” he said.

Among the daily activities, the contestants would undertake are aerobics, task of the day, health and financial talks, and cooking competition at the Di Asa house.

The MD explained that a weekly eviction show would be would be held on selected Saturdays at selected markets in Accra by a panel of judges, however, there would also be eviction free shows to allow contestants to exhibit their skills and talents.

Mr Dwumfuor urged corporate institutions to partner the Media Village and be part of the contest as their services and products would easily get the advertising mileage they deserved.

The Reverend Dr Enoch Arthur Aryeh, the Group MD of the Tobinco Group of Companies urged all plus-sized market women to participate in the contest because they would gain much from it.

He said such women were very important players in the society and needed to be included in all developmental actions by state and non-state actors.

Mr Roland Affair Monney, the President of the Ghana Journalists Association commended the Atinka Media Village for the initiative, saying, they had enlivened the media landscape.

He said such important programming were needed to let broadcasting progress in the country.

The launch was graced with performances from Ghanaian Gospel Artiste Joyce Blessing, Hip-Life Artiste, Fameye and actors like Dabo and Baba Spirit.

The past Di Asa Queens of the Seasons one and two competition graced the occasion with some dancing moves and drama.
