Atinka Media Village launched its new musical reality show, “Kronkron”, at its premises at Avenor Junction in Accra Wednesday.

Kronkron will bring together bands to contest in a live worship competition. The show is designed to bring together the very best together to network, share ideas and worship God in a conducive environment.

Each week, there will be a theme which the bands will be required to decipher, adapt and perform to their best ability.

The musical bands will be judged by competent music trainers and producers with in-depth knowledge of the music industry.

The participating musical bands will be judged on skill, adaptation, and cohesion and song structure. Kronkron reality show will award mouthwatering prizes to respective winners.

Speaking at the launch, the Managing Director for Atinka Media Village, Mr. Albert Dwumfour, expressed his gratitude to the Executive Chairman of the Tobinco Group, Elder Samuel Amo Tobbin, who is the brain behind Kronkron big band reality show.

He noted that Kronkron Big Band will excel and become the most viewed show on TV like Di Asa, the dance reality show which has taken the nation by storm. He used the occasion to call on prospective sponsors to come on board and support Kronkron.

“For a TV station, which is barely three years old, these feats are worth celebrating. Indeed we thank God for these achievements and every one of you here as well as our audience for making Di Asa the number one show on TV.

“There is, therefore, no doubt that this new reality show will excel by becoming the most viewed television show in the country. We can do it because we have the track record, which is Di Asa,” he explained.

Mr Dwumfour, who is also the Organizing Secretary of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) says Atinka Media Village will continue to roll out more exciting and educative programmes.

“I also want to state emphatically that Atinka Media Village will continue to introduce programmes and shows with compelling content to our cherished audience,” he added.

President for the Ghana Journalist Association (GJA), Mr. Affail Monney congratulated Atinka Media Village on the successful launch of Kronkron Big Band Reality Show.

“The event that brings us together today makes me happy in a special way since it touches on a subject personally dear to my heart; namely, WORSHIP. Indeed, as President of the Ghana Journalists Association, I am pleased that a Media House as part of its core duties to inform, educate and entertain has decided to initiate an innovative way to keep its teeming viewers and listeners entertained through Worship."

“This programme I know will qualitatively transform the form of entertainment we see on most media platforms. I thank them sincerely for it. I’m still convinced that the media is the most effective alternative way to transform the audience perception about the media’s role to entertain”, he added.

The Kronkron reality show will award a set of musical instruments plus a GHS10,000 cash prize, a GHS10,000 cash and a GHS5,000 cash prize to the first, second and third placed winners respectively.

The fourth to eighth winners will receive GHS2,000 cedis cash price each. Gospel stars, Brother Sammy and Hannah Marfo electrified the atmosphere with some of their greatest hits.
