Atom, others for 2016 Recognize

The 2016 edition of Ghana’s biggest High Schools event Recognize takes place at the National Theatre tomorrow.

Some of local music’s biggest stars will take to the stage in an event set to be better than previous editions.

Ye wo Krom singer Atom, Medikal and a host of others will treat patrons to a delightful experience.

In its 6th edition, this year’s will stick to its long-standing tradition of offering variety.

Categories in music (singing and rap battle), Dance (Formation dance and dance battle) as well as Fashion (Modelling) will be up for competition.

“Over the years we’ve churned out talents like Episode, Emperor who was the 2nd runner up of last year MTN hit maker fame 2014, CJ of MTN hitmaker fame 2015,” Gilbert Boakye Nhyira of event house Planet 1 Multimedia says.

“Our main objective is to give the youth the platform to exhibit their God given talent and also to unearth talent for the development of our creative arts industry. Our partners are The Musicians Union of Ghana( MUSIGA) God Money Boys(GMB), a record label company with an aim of helping our Ghanian youth to realise their creative talents through capacity building. It is headed by Anthony Hubert Essien. We also have Potters International College, an educational institution with its mission to provide for the varying educational needs of career-oriented, culturally diverse and geographically dispersed student body with the goal of preparing students academically, personally and professionally.”

This year’s edition is sponsored by Dj Cola, Papas Pizza, Heaven Black Mosquito Spray and Coil, Mentos Gum, Indomie, Dj Azonto’s Office, CD Scratch Entertainment.

Organizers say Kumasi will also get to host its third edition of Recognize on April 9 at the KNUST pool side at 12pm.
