Auntie Naa, host of the Oyerepa Afutuo, has stated that her interview with Yaw Sarpong's wife, the ailing gospel musician, was conducted with no malicious intent.
She explained that the purpose of the interview was to shed light on the musician's life and how his wife is managing amidst the ongoing controversies.
The journalist from Oyerepa FM acknowledged that given the resulting controversies from her interview with Sarpong's wife, her preference was to handle the matter privately.
Auntie Naa remarked that if the interview had been conducted privately, the ensuing controversies might have been avoided, especially in light of recent events.
In a post on X by Oyerepa FM/TV, Auntie Naa said, “I wanted to address it [interview with Yaw Sarpong's wife] privately.”
This follows an interview where Yaw Sarpong's wife, Adwoa Penamang, disclosed to Auntie Naa how the family has mistreated and neglected her since her husband's illness began.
She also expressed her distress over her husband's family allowing Maame Tiwaa to care of Yaw Sarpong, leaving her [Adwoa] neglected.
The interview has drawn criticism from some members of the public who feel the interview was unnecessary and should not have been conducted.
