BACI arrives in Wa on a “thank you” visit

Miss Abigail Bacerre, winner of the 2014 Ghana’s most beautiful, has arrived in Wa, the Upper West Regional capital on a “thank you” visit.

She was met on arrival by a large numbers of people including students from senior high schools, who were at Bamahu to catch a glimpse of her for the first time amidst drumming and dancing.

Miss Bacerre was ushered into the Wa Township and driven through some of the principal streets where a large crowd of onlookers by the roadside wove to her amidst mentioning her name and saying: “BACI, BACI all the way”.

She was then led to the Upper West Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) where she met with Dr. Mohammed Mushiebu Alfa, Deputy Upper West Regional Minister, with a large crowd of government workers at the ministries massing up at the forecourts of the RCC’s premises to catch a glimpse of her.

Dr. Alfa said the people in the Region were happy to receive her as the winner of the contest and much happier with the way she demonstrated the culture and tradition of the Region, not only with strength and beauty but also with enthusiasm.

The Minister was optimistic that the teaming youth in the Region would emulate her good examples, while also supporting her to come out successfully with her project.

Mr. Nuhu Putiaha, Wa Municipal Chief Executive thanked TV3 for the programme and the honour done to the people of the Region.

Mr. Iddrisu Mahama, Regional Director of Education, advised the students to use BACI as role model and aspire to achieve higher laurels for themselves and the Region as well as Ghana.

Miss Bacerre also paid a courtesy call on the Wa-Naa, Naa Alhaji Pelpuo Fuseini, to greet him and elders and to inform them of her visit to the Region and to thank the people for contributing immensely to help her win the contest.

BACI said she was grateful to the people of the Region in particular and the entire nation at large for their love and support shown in the competition.
