Bandana tears up on stage…apologizes to Samini

Controversial and ‘no nonsense’ Ghanaian dancehall artiste Bandana now known as Shatta Wale has taken back all the insulting words and statements he poured on his fellow artistes Samini and Kaakie.

Shatta who has gained immeasurable popularity over some few weeks now apologized to the two during an emotion moment during his performance at Bass Awards Nominees Party at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium last Friday July 5, 2013.

The "Shatta City" hit maker came on stage on a giant cross and turned the Stadium upside down. He paused in the middle of his performance and had a heart to heart talk with his fans and the world.

“Big up to all the artistes on this show, big up to the artistes for passing through and big ups to the organizers. Big ups to my dance hall sister Kaakie who I insulted and I’m very sorry for everything I said.

"Big ups to my brother Samini who was supposed to perform tonight but I understand he is out of the country”. His remorseful statement was hailed with laud cheer from the charged crowd who kept chanting his name “Wale Wale” continuously.

The acclaimed ‘Dancehall King’ was overwhelmed and broke down in tears when the entire crowd at the stadium kept chanting his name “Wale Wale” as though he was a god.

“Ooh! you people are making me cry. I have been crying all this while but nobody saw it because am wearing shades. Thank all of you so much and big up for supporting the Shatta movement”, he said as he took off his shades to show his tears.

Bandana repeated the apology on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review last Saturday “Ghana is for all of us but some people are bringing confusion among us. If we look at the Politicians and how they handle their affairs they are one people but when it comes to issues they deal with it in their own respective way and I believe that as musicians we should come together like that and solve it because we are not doing it for ourselves but for the people of Ghana”.

He even went ahead to plead with Samini to collaborate with him on a song and a big concert just for the two of them to perform together on one stage

“That is why am pleading with everybody through the media that I have never done any song with Samini before and I will wish that this year that thing will happen for Ghanaians to feel really happy because I know a whole lot of our fans are really looking out for that.

"I have spoken to a number of people to make sure this happens with me and Samini in a unity concert for Ghanaians to feel proud that they have great artistes like me and Samini”.

It will be recalled that Bandana insulted dancehall queen Kaakie and Samini and their respective management on several occasions after he lost the “Reggae/Dancehall artiste of the year” award to Kaakie at the 2013 Ghana Music Awards. However Samini and Kaakie’s management are yet to react to Shatta Wale’s apology and sudden U-turn.
