Leila Djansi, an award-winning Ghanaian movie filmmaker, has condemned movie pirates, who she says do not appreciate the effort that goes into making a movie.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Leila said people who pirate movie should be ashamed of themselves because producers sacrifice a lot to come up with those movies.
Using herself as an example, the ‘Sinking Sands’ director said she spent the whole of Tuesday transferring movie files from Ghana to the US due to bad internet.
Leila said she spent the entire weekend shooting and even had to travel to Togo with a one-year-old child to shoot.
“After all this, someone will comfortably take a flash drive (pen drive) and copy a pirated version and feel good about it.
If you dabble in pirated films, be very ashamed of yourself,” she said.

we spent all day today transferring movie files between Ghana and Los Angeles via slow internet. Spent the weekend...
