Beauty queens support basic education

Three contestants in TV3’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful (GMB) 2014 have donated 30,000 pieces of Sasso branded exercise books to some basic schools in their respective regions.

The contestants- Baci, the winner of the GMB 2014, Lamine and Ruky, representing Upper West, Upper East and Northern regions respectively- donated 10,000 exercise books each to selected schools in the regions they represented.

The donation of the exercise books was made possible under a project support initiative of Sasso Group of Companies, producers of Sasso insecticide spray and coils.

In the Upper East Region, Lamine donated her allocation of books to 10 schools from five districts, while Baci made the donation to 10 schools from four districts and Ruky made a donation to 20 schools.

Marketing Manager of Samara Group of Companies, Sedrick Nartey Ologo, said the donation of the Sasso branded exercise books was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility to support brilliant but needy students with educational materials.

He added that the donation was also in fulfillment of the promise made to the contestants that the company would provide the branded exercise books to help them achieve whatever goals they have set themselves out to achieve in their respective projects.

Mr Ologo assured that similar presentations would be made through the beauty queens representing the Ashanti and Greater Accra regions in the coming weeks.

The Bole District Director of Education, Leocadia Zakpala, commended the company for the donation of the exercise books.
