Ghanaian rapper Phrimpong has opened up about some of the challenges he faced in his growth in the music industry in Ghana
He said relocating to Accra to pursue music has given him access to better opportunities than in Kumasi.
In an interview with Accra-based Hitz FM on June 27, 2024, he stated that while Kumasi has produced its share of successful artistes, Accra offers a more dynamic environment that better propels musicians closer to their goal.
“The location has also been a challenge, I must admit, being in Kumasi has had, not to say a bigger, a bigger toll on the journey.
“There have been people from Kumasi who have made it big. I know some of my brothers who did it from Kumasi.
“But I think being here (in Accra) also lights up the energy, because I think here a lot of things do go on, you get closer to the market, you get closer to the people who are doing the thing itself. It speeds up the process for you," he said.
