Beyonce Giselle Knowles-Carter will be visiting Ghana in December 2019 as part of plans for the country’s Year of Return, Pulse.com.gh sources say.

The American singer, songwriter and actress is a global superstar having made a mark in the music industry with albums including "Dangerously in Love", "B’Day" and "Lemonade".

38-year-old Beyonce’s visit to Ghana will, however, not be about music as the "Brown Skin Girl" hitmaker will not be performing during her stay in West Africa.

Ghana’s Year of Return 2019 has gained grounds across the globe in 2019.

Since President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo formally launched the Year of Return in Washington D.C. in September 2018, Ghana saw the likes of Boris Kodjoe, Nicole Aris Parker, Anthony Anderson, Idris Elba, Diggy Simmons, Michael Jai White, Rosario Isabel Dawson among others spent Christmas 2019 in formerly known Gold Coast.

In 2019, the list has grown with popular American comedian and entertainer Stephen Harvey, American rappers TI and Cardi B, Jack Dorsey all making trips to Ghana.

Having made headlines on CNN and Forbes with regards to Ghana being one of the best tourist destinations in Africa, Bozoma Saint John has done spectacular work in selling Ghana to the world.

Pulse Ghana sources indicate the former PepsiCo, Apple and Uber executive is playing a key role in Beyonce’s visit to Ghana.

Essence Ventures, an independent Black-owned consumer technology company is also a major partner as Beyonce is expected to be at the 2019 Essence Full Circle Festival which launched in September 2019 and will support cultural ownership and economic collaboration in Africa and building bridges between Africans on the continent and in the diaspora.

As part of Mrs Knowles-Carter coming to Ghana, Pulse.com.gh understands some floors at the luxurious Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra have been reserved with changes made to earlier bookings.

Security and privacy is something Beyonce puts high on the priority list.

Her visit to Ghana like most other executions by her has seen people who are directly involved been made to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).

This is similar to when she put Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale on her album inspired by the 2019 remake of the popular The Lion King movie titled ‘The Lion King: The Gift’.

Shatta Wale, being very open on the internet kept the news to himself until Queen B made the announcement.

Most of Beyonce fans may not have a chance to see their queen visit the motherland as there is no concert like Cardi B’s visit to Ghana.

Considering the security measures in relation to Cardi B’s visit to Ghana over the weekend, Beyonce’s security detail will be a very difficult one to get through to meet the musician.

However, there will be private meetings and parties for invited guests to interact with Queen B. She is also expected to make a trip to the Cape Coast Castle and have some meetings at the Presidency.

The Ghana Tourism Authority reports having had 750,000 foreign visitors in 2019 despite expecting 500,000 in the year. With a few weeks left to the end of the year Ghana’s tourism authority expects the numbers to rise to 1 million foreign visitors.
