Popular highlife singer Bisa KDei will perform with Malian legend Salif Keita at this year’s this year’s edition of Festival des Musiques Urbanise d’Anoumabo slated for April 25- 30 in the Ivory Coast.
Also performing are Soul Bang (Guinea), Singula (France), as well as local acts Kiff No Beat, Monique Seka and Tiken Jah.
Put together by Ivorian group Magic System, the concert aims “to help the most disadvantaged by creating social cohesion through music and ensuring we live together because our country has gone through difficult times”.
A special tribute has also been announced for the late Papa Wemba, who passed away during his performance last year.
Signed to Black Legendary Music, Bisa KDei is best known for his 2015 hits Mansa and Brother Brother, and has reportedly recorded with HKN Gang frontman Davido. He’s reigning VGMA Highlife Artist of the Year, and has two albums to his credit.
He’s winner off three VGMA awards, and has been associated with elite colleagues including Efya, CastroFuse ODG, Kwaw Kese, Sarkodie, Daddy Lumba, and Becca. His latest single Apae was released earlier this month.
