Bishop condemns NUDITY in Ghanaian movies

The General Overseer of Holyfire International Church, Bishop Reginald Ofori-Twumasi, has condemned the nudity portrayed by Ghanaian movie stars and celebrities.

He said the negative phenomenon in the country’s movie industry where movie stars and celebrities posed nude in movies must stop.

The General Overseer described the practice as ungodly since it did not glorify God and cautioned young ladies to avoid posing nude because of monetary benefits.

Bishop Ofori-Twumasi gave the advice in a sermon at the Church’s Annual Camp Meeting in Takoradi on Sunday under the theme: “Jesus Christ, the Truth that Turns Tragedies to Triumphs.”

He observed that Ghana’s movie industry had blindly copied that of the western world, which portrayed movie stars and celebrities in nudity.

He said those movies had not profited them but rather resulted in divorces and wrecked homes; and therefore cautioned Ghanaian movie producers to stop authorizing such movies in the country in view of their negative social implications on the youth.

“Some producers come with juicy movie contract worth $10,000.00 for you to pose naked because it will fetch them money, but such things sadden the Holy Spirit because your body does not belong to you, it is the temple of God, therefore you must use it profitably to please God.” he noted.

The man of God entreated Christians to lead morally upright lives worthy of emulation so as to win more souls for Jesus Christ.
