Blame Sammy Flex for inciting Shatta Wale against Stonebwoy - Ola Michael

Media personality and entertainment pundit Ola Michael has given his perspective on the brouhaha surrounding the cancellation of Shatta Wale’s concert at the University of Ghana.

It could be recalled that the concert, which was supposed to be held at the TF Hostel at the University of Ghana, was cancelled by the university authorities, who cited a lack of information from the organisers.

However, Shatta Wale’s camp accused Stonebwoy of influencing the cancellation so it would not coincide with his concert, which took place at the University of Ghana on the same day.

Stonebwoy, however, denied the allegations, stating that he was not involved in any cancellation and had no power to do so.

Weighing in on the situation on Neat FM in Accra on June 13, 2024, broadcaster and entertainment analyst Ola Michael directed criticism towards Shatta Wale's manager, Sammy Flex, for mismanaging the situation.

According to him, Sammy Flex’s comments were filled with implications and hints that Stonebwoy was behind the cancellation, which he said was misleading and incited Shatta Wale, leading to the barrage of insults directed at Stonebwoy.

According to Ola Michael, the real confusion started with the TF Hostel representatives, who falsified their intentions to the school authorities by claiming they were organising a karaoke event instead of a concert. He claimed that they had misled Sammy Flex, who then misled Shatta Wale.

“Let's not blame Shatta Wale for his outburst, but let's blame his manager for his inability to manage the emotions of his artiste. You saw what Sammy Flex said; he was making a lot of innuendos and suggestive statements, making it seem like Stonebwoy had influenced the cancellation of the concert.

“The TF Hostel people rather misled Sammy Flex, and they misled the authorities by saying they intended to do a Karaoke night, meanwhile, they were bringing in Shatta Wale. And just as the dean said, if they were, they needed to make adequate preparations just as they did for Stonebwoy,” he said.

Ola Michael further blamed Sammy Flex for his poor approach to managing the situation, including his failure to confirm the information with the dean of students and reporting the false information to Shatta Wale.

“Why would a manager be inciting the emotions of your artiste but not controlling them? Even when he was called, he made statements like, 'They said you cannot perform'. That is not how you should have put it.

“Did he even bother to contact the dean of students to verify what he was told by the TF Hostel representatives? And he sat down for the artistes to throw banters at each other,” he added.

With the facts now clear, Ola Michael questioned whether Sammy Flex would apologise to Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, and others affected by the misinformation.

“Now that the truth is out, is he going to apologise to Stonebwoy? Is his artiste going to apologise to Stonebwoy and all the other people he insulted? Is he also going to apologise to Shatta Wale for giving him false information?

“I think he needs to apologise to Stonebwoy and apologise on behalf of his artiste,” Ola Michael concluded.
