Madina, Jan. 2, GNA - The Police at Madina on Saturday discovered the body of a thirty-year old unidentified lady suspected to have been murdered and deposited at the Madina Cemetery.
Speaking to GNA, the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in charge of the Madina District, Mr. Kwabena Antwi Bosiako said he heard Peace FM announce that a dead body was lying at the Madina Cemetery and he quickly dispatched his men to the scene.
He said the lady whose lower part was bound with a mat, had the entire body also bound against two door frames with a blue nylon twine and left on the ground in the cemetery.
Upon inspection, the Police detected numerous knife wounds on the cheek, around the neck, the head and on both palms.
The murdered woman was wearing a 'Rasta' plated hair. On the upper part of the body she was wearing a white brassier and a red blouse without panties. Her pubic hair was also shaved.
Mr Antwi Bosiako said police suspected foul play and added that the lady might have been murdered somewhere and the body was deposited at the Madina Cemetery.
DSP Antwi Bosiako appealed to members of the public whose female relative had not returned home to contact the Madina Police for identification.
The corpse had since been deposited at the Ghana Police Hospital Morgue in Accra for autopsy, while investigations are underway to arrest the perpetrators of the crime
