Mr. Kwabena Anokye Adisi a.k.a. Bola Ray, Chief Executive Officer of Empire Group of Companies was on Friday adjudged Entertainment Entrepreneur of the Year Award 2013 at the 4th edition of Ghana Entrepreneur Awards.
Empire group of companies, which include Empire Entertainment, and Empire 102.7 FM in Takoradi, among other subsidiaries is home to so many event and entertainment hub, but the most significant ones among the lots are: Empire 102.7 FM, a new radio station in Takoradi in the Western Region which started its test transmission a couple of months ago.
He is also the organizers of the yearly ‘Ghana meets Naija’ concert, one of the biggest musical concerts on the Ghanaian event’s calendar which provide a common platform for top-notch artistes from both Ghana and Nigeria to share and thrill music lovers from both countries.
He was born on the 1st of March 1977; ‘Bola Ray’ as fondly called is a story of determination, persistence honesty and success. He is one of the entertainment industry’s most successful and respected personalities who will stop at nothing to see his dream wheel rise nonstop.
He had his secondary education at Accra Academy. Afterwards he did his National Service at Radio Universe and then moved on to the School of Administration, University of Ghana, Legon (now the University of Ghana Business School).Whiles in his second year at the university, he also enrolled at the Central University College where he studied Business Administration. He therefore holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the Central University as well.
Recently, he became the winner of a 2013 MBA Business Idea Competition. A MBA Business Idea Competition which was put together by the Altis Business School, Catholic University of Milan, Italy.
Ghana Entrepreneur Awards is organized annually by Entrepreneur Foundation to recognise outstanding Ghanaian entrepreneurs and non Ghanaian resident entrepreneurs who continue to contribute towards national development through job creation.
President and Founder of Entrepreneur Foundation Mr. Sam Ato Gaisie in his welcome address said the award is built on the idea that entrepreneurs will continue to innovate and sustain their leadership in their respective industry.
“Three elements are in place here; benchmarking against best practices, recognition of past and current entrepreneurship efforts, continued publicity and public attention.” Mr. Gaisie said.
He however mentioned that his foundation will serve as an important medium to inspire Ghanaians to undertake the entrepreneurship path to enhance visibility of Ghanaian entrepreneurs and businesses.
