Boycott Shoprite, Game, MTN over xenophobic attacks – Blakk Rasta

African countries must take bold actions against South Africa following the attacks on foreign nationals in South Africa by citizens of that country, Blakk Rasta, a Ghanaian reggae musician and a radio presenter, has said.

He said the services of South African businesses that are operating in other parts of Africa should be boycotted in order to send a message to the people of that country that the attacks on foreign nationals was wrong.

Until strong measures are taken, he said on the Big Show programme on Class 91.3FM Saturday September 7, 2019, the xenophobic attacks will continue.

The re-emergence of xenophobic attacks in South Africa has resulted in several foreign nationals domiciled in most cities of that country, especially Johannesburg and Pretoria, locked up in their homes and unable to go about their normal business activities.

Nigeria’s foreign ministry said Nigerians in South Africa were being offered a free flight to return home “following the recent unfortunate xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals.”

Blakk Rasta said: “All businesses that belong to South Africans in other African countries should be pulled the plug on. Shop Rite, Game, MTN and all those companies must go home. South Africa can never win against the rest of Africa.”

He added: “The attacks will continue like this if we don’t take these measures.

“South Africa is just one country. The rest of Africa is about 54 countries as we speak now.”

He further called on the African Union (AU) to take action against South Africa over the issue.

“If the AU is not ready to pullout South Africa then let us all pull out if the AU and see if South Africa alone can stay there,” he said.
