Bring back veteran actors on set – Agya Koo advises

One of the finest hilarious actor in Ghana, Alexander Kofi Adu known in showbiz as Agya Koo has called on movie directors and producers to reconsider bringing veteran actors and actresses who have been out of screen for years back on track.

According to him, the current trend of the Ghana movie doesn’t speak well of the industry.

Agya Koo who until recently was among the veteran actors who were blacklisted with no reasons from the producers, says he feel embarrassed when he watch movies with full of pettiness in it.

The 47-year-old veteran actor who is disappointed that old actors have been sidelined told Ashh fm Entertainment zone last weekend that some of the ace actors and actresses are willing to render their service to improve the standard of the industry but they are not been given that opportunity.

Almost all the old actors have been sidelined. They haven’t been on set for a long while.

But “Veteran actors are still being used in Hollywood and even neighboring Nigeria so why can’t it be same down here. He asked

“I think the film makers should reconsider their decision not to use the old actor. He added. Agya Koo told E-zone that, it will be better for the industry to revert to the old trend to help eliminate the bad image created for the industry.

Some of the actors and actresses who have been nonessential by the producers and directors according to Agya Koo include Naana Hayford, Mercy Asiedu, Paa George, Ebenezer Donkor (Katawere) Rose Mensah (Kyeiwaa) Mary Afriyie Forson and others.

Agya Koo thinks if these actors are been brought back to the screen the industry will revive.
