British Council Hosts Reggae Star

The British Council in Accra will on Thursday June 16 present Courage Man Jah and Family, who will treat music fans to a series of reggae tunes from their repertoire.

Led by Courage Man Jah, the dreadlocked guitarist, the group, which comprise his wife and three children will entertain the audience with a number of his recent compositions collectively known as Reggae Blues.

The group effectively combines Roots Rock, Reggae, Jazz, Rock, Blues and traditional African music to create a completely new sound that has thrilled numerous fans in several West African countries.

Among the tracks that will entertain the live music enthusiasts are "Rastafari", "Face of Jah", "Remember" and Believe", "Music Man", "Stop All Wars", "The Human Race" and "Togetherness". Courage Man Jah, who is also a painter, has been involved in music for over twenty years.

He has performed in numerous West African countries including Togo, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Benin, Cameroun, Chad, Mali and the Central African Republic. The show forms part of a series of activities marking the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of the British Council in Accra.
