Nii Soul has revealed why he parted ways with management outfit BullHaus Entertainment. He made this known to Joy Fm’s Doreen Andoh on on mid-morning show, Cosmopolitan Mix.
You might remember Nii from the 2007 edition of TV3’s talent show Mentor (back then, he was known as Joe), and the debut edition of Project Fame West Africa.
Nii recounted, during the interview, that in an altercation, label boss Lawrence Asiamah Hanson, a.k.a Bulldog, called him a “joke” and a “failure”. He revealed that while he thought Bulldog’s comment was out of anger, he (Bulldog), in a later conversation, insisted that he had meant those words. This, Nii admitted, led him to leave the label “respectfully”.
The direction of Nii’s music has shifted dramatically, to Gospel / Inspirational music, but Nii insists that the incident had nothing to do with the new outlook of his music.
Nii Soul has been associated with such acts as Samini, Trigmatic, and Iwan in the past, and described his upcoming album slated for next year, as “controversial”, as it touches issues many wouldn’t normally touch.
